Hundreds of homes across south-east England remained flooded on Friday and thousands of homeowners are still without power following severe storms.

“You can’t, unfortunately, legislate against the weather,” said British Environment Minister George Eustice.”All we can do is make sure that we’ve got the best possible response to it. That’s why we’ve had teams out 24 hours a day.”

The stormy weather is expected to continue affecting Britain through the week, according to the Environment Agency.

According to Sky News, there are currently 56 flood warnings and 144 flood alerts across England and Wales.
