NORTH OKANAGAN — Boxing day began with a ticket for a Vernon woman who crashed her vehicle on Highway 97 early Thursday morning.
The single vehicle crash happened shortly before 9 o’clock near Crystal Waters Road south of Vernon where the 25-year-old driver lost control on slushy conditions before hitting the ditch in the southbound lane.

Both airbags in the SUV deployed.
The woman wasn’t injured.
Police issued her a ticket for driving too fast for road conditions.
Environment Canada had issued a freezing rain warning earlier in the day. The warning has ended.
