Maidstone RCMP detachment commander removed, investigation launched

MAIDSTONE, Sask. – The commander of the RCMP Maidstone, Sask. detachment has been removed from his duties.

The sergeant, with more than 20 years of service, was relieved on Dec. 5 after senior management received information there may have been inappropriate workplace behaviour.

An internal code of conduct investigation was launched Monday morning.

The name of the sergeant is not being released while the investigation is carried out.

His name will only be released to the public if statutory charges are laid or if a formal disciplinary hearing is held.
