Freezing rain forces unscheduled landing for Edmonton police chopper

Edmonton – The freezing rain that hit the City of Edmonton Monday morning caused a headache for Edmonton police, as ‘Air 2’ was forced to make an unscheduled landing.

The chopper landed in the parking lot of the Marketplace at Callingwood in west Edmonton after ice began to build on the aircrafts windshield.

Police say the pilots had plenty of time to pick a good spot for Air 2 to land.

The chopper was set to take off from the parking lot late Monday morning.
