WATCH: Canadian warship seizes half-tonne of heroin in Arabian Sea

A Canadian warship has made another major drug bust in the Arabian Sea, where it’s on patrol.

Crewmembers of HMCS Toronto boarded a ship off the east coast of Africa on Wednesday and found more than 500 bags of heroin weighing more than half-a-tonne.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The Canadian Forces says the haul was catalogued, then destroyed.

Two months ago the frigate stopped another vessel in the same area and crew members seized more than 180-kilograms of heroin.
