Burnaby Mounties have issued a warning after a sixteen-year-old girl was sexually assaulted Thursday evening.
Mounties say the girl was walking alone near MacPherson Avenue and Rumble Street when a man approached her from behind and touched her genital area.
The girl ran away and the man did not pursue her, officials say.
The male is described as 5’9″ tall with a medium build, around 30 to 40 years old, wearing a black beanie style hat, black jacket and jeans. His race is unknown.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) if they wish to remain anonymous.
