Man charged in Sunday homicide in East Vancouver

Vancouver police say a 39-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in a homicide in the city’s Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood on Sunday.

Police were called to the home located near East 33 Avenue and Knight Street, at 1 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Alexander Lo, a 31-year-old Vancouver resident.

At the time, police said a suspect was arrested at the scene.

On Monday, police said Dwight William Kematch had been charged with murder.

Vancouver police said it’s the first homicide in the city in 2024.
