Chilliwack man recovering after shooting himself while cleaning his gun

A Chilliwack man had to be airlifted to hospital this morning after he accidentally shot himself.

It appears he was cleaning his gun when it went off and reportedly went into his stomach and out of his chest.

The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

He was taken from his home on Riverside Drive to Royal Columbian Hospital.
