The Vancouver Public Library is asking the public for ideas for the name of their new library in Strathcona.
The new library in the 700-block of East Hastings Street, is a joint project between the YWCA and the city. The building will feature a new library and affordable housing for low-income single mothers and their children. It is scheduled to open in 2015.
The library could be named after a person, a place, event, symbol or concept.
To submit your ideas for a new name, go to vpl.ca/name until January 26, 2014. The new name will be announced in the summer.
