Blades losing skid hits four games in loss to Americans

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Connor Rankin and Taylor Vickerman both had power-play goals as the Tri-City Americans topped the Saskatoon Blades 3-1 in WHL action Tuesday evening.

Beau McCue’s goal with a second left in the first period gave the Americans (16-12-3) a 3-0 lead. Eric Comrie made 25 saves.

Logan Harland was the lone scorer for the Blades (10-18-3). Alex Moodie stopped six of eight shots he faced before being pulled in favour of Troy Trombley. Trombley turned aside 17 of 18 shots in 40:23 of work.

The Blades wrap up their U.S. road trip when they play the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday evening – their fifth game in six nights – before returning home to host the Regina Pats on Friday in a special retro jersey night.
