A Northerly Upper Air Flow is guiding extremely cold & dry air from the Arctic Southward across BC.
This type of air mass is normally associated with very cold temperatures, calm wind and a clear blue, sunny sky.
However, at this time of year, Okanagan Lake at 12.6C is a source of both heat and moisture. As this cold/dry air flows over the relatively warm/moist lake, evaporation will help to form cloud for areas in close proximity to the open water.
So although we have a very dry air mass over us, proximity to the lake will be the cause of the clouds we will see this week.
