Freezing rain warning issued for north of GTA

TORONTO – Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Orillia, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Parry Sound, Huntsville, and surrounding areas.

Though Toronto and the GTA are not included in the warning, there is the chance that the city may see some freezing rain for the morning’s commute.

Snow mixed with freezing rain is expected to develop east of Lake Huron Tuesday evening. The precipitation will move into the area eat of Georgian Bay on Wednesday morning.

As the temperature hovers near 0 C, there is the chance that the area could see several hours of freezing rain.

Environment Canada stresses that the path of the low pressure system responsible for the precipitation is uncertain and the warnings may be extended to other areas.

Motorists are urged to use caution while out on the roads during the event.
