LONGUEUIL – Quebec provincial police are investigating a shooting involving a police officer in Longueuil on Monday night.
Just before ten o’clock, an officer responded to several 9-1-1 calls reporting a violent argument taking place on David Street in Old Longueuil.

When she arrived at the scene, she discovered a man stabbing his partner on the street.

According to witnesses, the man attempted to attack the officer, who then shot him in the leg.
A spokesperson for the Sureté du Québec confirmed that the man and a women, both in their late twenties, were transported to hospital where they remain in stable condition.
“We are investigating the shooting by the officer and the altercation between the couple,” Sgt. Joyce Kemp said.
