Investigation continues in killing of North Vancouver’s “Iranian ticket master”

Despite shutting down the Ironworkers and Lions Gate Bridges and canvassing the neighbourhood for three days, investigators are no closer to solving North Vancouver’s first homicide of the year.

Rostam Poulad-Noshiravan, a well-respected member of the Iranian community was shot to death in his home Saturday afternoon.

“It’s shocking,” says Hamid Zargarzadeh, a friend of Poulad-Noshiravan. “Everybody’s shocked.”

He was known in the community as the “Iranian ticket master”, selling tickets for cultural plays, concerts and other events.

“He wasn’t involved in any criminal activities,” says Ramin Mahjourihave, a Persian TV host. “If there were even rumours we would know about it, but there’s nothing with this guy.”

Members of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team say the murder wasn’t random, but are still working to determine a motive.
