VANCOUVER — The highly anticipated and highly secretive movie Fifty Shades of Grey has begun filming in Vancouver.
E.L. James, writer of the bestselling novels, posted a photo Sunday on her Instagram page showing the clapperboard for “scene 25, take 1.”
Just like the Twilight series (also shot in B.C.), Fifty Shades is cloaked in secrecy. Cast and crew have been sworn to keep details under wraps.
The movie, staring Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, is scheduled to be in production until the end of January and will be released in February 2015.

Filming took place Sunday in a coffee shop in Gastown.
B.C.’s film industry is once again booming. Seth Rogen and James Franco are close to wrapping The Interview and the comedy Night at the Museum 3 and fantasy flick Warcraft are set to start shooting in January.
James has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos on her Instagram account.
Paparazzi photos of Dornan and Johnson have also been lifted from websites and shared on social media by excited fans.
