AeroVenture Casey 2023 Celebrate Aviation and the Freedom to Fly The biggest Aviation Event in Canada September 1 to 4, 2023 CASEY, QC – May 16, 2023. AeroVenture, presented by Camp de Base and Club Copa 217 is pleased to unveil its program for the 3rd Edition of the event, which will take place from September 1st to 4th on the military remains and the CSQ4 Airstrip in the Casey sector, in La Tuque. “Aviation and outdoor enthusiasts, an appointment not to be missed. Did you know that Casey Airstrip turns 70 this year? To mark the 70 vestigious and military years of CSQ4 Airstrip, pilots from the Royal Canadian Air Force will fly over the site to commemorate its existence on September 2nd in the afternoon. It will also be possible to visit the interior of a CF18. Drumbeat: A Protection Ceremony will also be performed by an Atikamekw shaman to purify our Mother Earth. ‘Nikawinan Aski’. New! The First Edition of the Casey Half-Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 3rd, morning, organized by Naor Cohen, triathlete himself, founder and general manager of the Casey’s Base Camp. “An extraordinary journey! We’ve designed and tested a circuit that takes riders on a tour of Cold War remnants while enjoying nature. Four distances are offered. To encourage children under 12, registration is free. There will also be helicopter and plane tours (paying), an aeronautical exhibition as well as the AeroVenture Market”, adds Naor Cohen. A Great Premiere ! Casey is making broadcasting history! This year visitors will experience the opening of a new radio station for the duration of the event. AeroVenture 89.1 FM can be tuned directly to the CSQ4 event site. Casey is filled with stories and events that have marked the region, from the construction of a military base during the Cold War in the 1950s up to the events of the mercenary pilot, Raymond Boulanger. Lost in the middle of the forest, this trail has inestimable heritage and tourist value for the territory of the Parent district of the La Tuque Agglomeration and the Maurician region. Since 2012, a rather informal RVA has been organized and informally invited amateur pilots to a rather original annual activity, namely aerocamping on a mysterious vestige of the Cold War. AeroVenture was therefore born from this annual RVA. In 2022 AeroVenture Casey welcomed: 241 aircraft, 28 seaplanes, 22 helicopters, 260 RVs, 92 camping planes and 2600 visitors for the duration of the event.
