From August 15-19, teens attending this year’s camp become real-life CSIs to catch a criminal using DNA analysis and other forensic sciences. They also learn what it takes for scientific evidence to hold up in court by acting as expert witnesses at a mock trial. The best part is kids get to meet real-life CSIs, lab experts, Vancouver Police Officers and a whole host of cool guest speakers about how the science works in a real-life lab at the UBC Main Campus. Who is it for? Teens entering grades 9-12, who are science-curious kids or interested in a future career in the justice or legal system. What is the cost? The camp costs $250, and bursaries are available for BIPOC teens or families who don’t have the financial means to attend. Register here: https://events.genomebc.ca/geneskool2022
