Kelowna, BC – Pandosy Village is a thriving neighbourhood with a number of well-liked restaurants, food stores and retail businesses. Its proximity to popular beaches such as Gyro Beach makes it a popular destination for tourists. The new Pandosy Waterfront Park and the Abbot Street continuation of the recreation corridor scheduled for the Fall of 2022 will only add to the uniqueness of Pandosy Village. The KLO Neighbourhood Association (KLONA) has been working with the City of Kelowna Strong Neighbourhood Program to generate exposure for the Pandosy community by creating an annual Pandosy Art Festival. We are very grateful to have been the beneficiary of a grant from the City’s Strong Neighbourhoods program. Activities will include an art show and sale of local artists and crafters, children’s art activities as sponsored by the City of Kelowna, ephemeral art activity such as chalk art and painted rocks, etc. We will generate support in the local business community by having them participate in handing out kits for residents to paint fence boards in the form of ‘colourful people’. The Art Festival will take place on Sunday August 15, 2021. Sopa Square has graciously agreed to let KLONA host the event in its courtyard. Once the Pandosy Waterfront Park is open, the event will eventually be hosted there. KLONA will ensure that the festival aligns with all health authority regulations.
