Fun and comfort for kids in hospital over the holidays

Being a kid in hospital over the holidays is never easy, but COVID-19 has made it even tougher for patients at HSC Children’s Hospital to have fun. In the past donors have come to Children’s Hospital Foundation with toys and physical items to comfort patients, particularly for the holidays. But this year, it’s not possible to allow physical drop-offs. Instead, you can help make a child smile by making a monetary donation online. This will allow staff on the Child Life team to purchase gifts and comfort items and organize activities for this very special season. These health care providers are expert in helping kids and their families cope with the uncertainty of being sick and in hospital, and understand children’s developmental needs, including for play and distraction. And since they work closely with the kids every day, they choose gifts that are appropriate and meaningful for each child.
