173rd Peterborough Exhibition

The Peterborough EX returns for it’s 173rd year with more events this year.

Organizers have announced the lineup for the 173rd Annual Peterborough Ex, running from August 9-12 at Morrow Park in Peterborough. New this
year is the Escape Maze Challenge which takes participants around the grounds to complete a series of challenges to solve a puzzle.
Also new is the Wolf/Fresh “In the Tent” party which will immediately follow the Dodge Ram Rodeo on Friday night. As well, on Saturday there will be three live bands: Highway Sunrise, Rye Street and Hicktown.
In addition to Friday’s rodeo, returning this year is Ontario Xtreme Cowbow which challenges both the horse and rider to maneuver through a series of trail and farm-based obstacles demonstrating horsemanship and speed.
Other returning favourites include the President’s Choice SuperDogs, Green Tractors Equipment Displays, KenJen Petting Zoo, car show, midway, farmers market, and steer auction.
Some of the agricultural main attractions in the Glen Isle Farms show ring include the beef show, dairy show and poultry show. Also happening are the heavy and light horse shows and homecraft displays. The Peterborough Ex often serves as a proving ground for contestants in the Royal Winter Fair.
“The impact of the Ex is far reaching, not just for the agricultural industry;” says Ryan Moore, President of the Agricultural Society. “it also impacts people who are not farmers at all… it brings the country into the city and gives them a chance to explore and learn and understand the importance of agriculture.”

In its’ 173rd year, the Peterborough Ag Society holds one of Canada’s longest running exhibitions. The Peterborough Ex will be held on August 9-12, 2018. Please be advised that the 173 rd Peterborough Exhibition will be taking place August 9 th -12 th , 2018 inclusive. A road closure will result from this event.The route along Roger Neilson Way from the south curb line of Lansdowne Street to the north curb line of McGill Street will be closed from August 8 th , 2018 at 8:00 a.m. to August 12 th , 2018 at 11:59 p.m.Parking for the Ex will be off of Park Street. The Saturday Peterborough Farmers Market will be relocated to the lawn with access off of Park Street and will operate regular hours from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There is no admission charge to access the market.
