Join us in the Roseline Sturdy Amphitheatre for our new Summer Series. We’ve got a mix of entertaining performances lined up throughout the summer. Playing some of the Nations most beloved fiddle tunes, Micki-Lee’s group takes audiences on a unique journey through the blending of multiple styles of music. Genre-hopping from old-time fiddle to Celtic, bluegrass, swing, gypsy jazz, folk, and country; these musicians ensure listeners will hear a well-rounded performance. Micki-Lee Smith (violin), from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta is passionate about sharing music with others and has a background of classical training and fiddle performing. A former member of the band The Smith sisters, Micki-Lee has released two albums and has travelled across Canada performing for a variety of events over the past 10 years. She is joined by Jaelem Bhate (drums) and Jacques Forest (bass), both up and coming musicians with diverse musical backgrounds and experiences, who bring unique broader influences to the group’s sound, adding deeper jazz harmonies and rhythms to Micki-Lee’s spirited fiddle playing. Picnics are encouraged, there will be a cash bar with snacks as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
