Local dance treasure, Usha Gupta, has intrigued audiences across Canada, in the United States and India. Her newest Kathak creation, KHOJ (meaning search, inquiry, quest) features an outstanding ensemble of local dancers, Riya Mittal and Marla Palakkamanil Gill and four dancers from India. KHOJ features a score by Parveen Rao performed by a live ensemble with Deepak Paramashivan, who has thrilled the Edmonton music scene with masterful performances. The June 3rd performance will feature classical Kathak solos by Edmonton’s Riya Mittal and Anuj Mishra and Souvik Chabraborty from India.
