The CEO Sleepout is about starting conversations.

Since 2011, CEOs and Community Champions from around Winnipeg have been gathering with those with lived experience to spend time together – creating a dialogue and creating understanding.

When: Thursday, October 26, 2017         Where: RBC Convention Centre

There is a long-term social and economic cost to homelessness that needs to be addressed. The CEO Sleepout works with the private and public sectors to raise funds that go directly to employ those with lived experience.

In the last five years, the CEO Sleepout has raised over $800,000, which has employed 137 people with lived experience adding up to over 51,000 hours of employment.

The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ has partnered with End Homelessness Winnipeg with the goal to raise the remaining $200,000 to reach the CEO Sleepout’s $1 million mark.

This year, the CEO Sleepout will be held in conjunction with the National Conference on Ending Homelessness, which runs from October 25-27 at the RBC Convention Centre.

The conference is set to bring in 1,000 delegates, policy makers, funders, researchers, advocates, and community leaders from across the country to work towards finding solutions to ending homelessness in their respective communities.

The CEO Sleepout has ignited a drive from the private and public sectors to work together to create long-term strategies for ending homelessness in our community through the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council’s Task Force to End Homelessness, co-chaired by SEED Winnipeg’s Cindy Coker and RBC’s Rob Johnston.
