Anchored by married duo JT Nero and Allison Russell, Birds of Chicago plays “secular gospel,” where passionate vocals complement simple, moving folk arrangements. The musical collective is driven by Russell’s clear, strong voice, and Nero’s songwriting talent and innate feel for instrumentation. The group believes that even in our busy modern world, beautiful words and music can evoke deep universal emotions. Since 2012, the band has spent over 200 nights a year on tour, giving their performances a road-perfected sturdiness that thrills audiences everywhere they go.
