The Canada Black Music Archives expands its national presence with its first official Black History Month Showcase in Vancouver on Friday, February 27, 2026, presented by Word Media Group with the support of TD Bank Group at the Museum of Vancouver. The Vancouver showcase features live performances from Dee Daniels, Ndidi Cascade, Khari McClelland, Henri Brown, and Bukola, with DJ and production support from Carl Allen. Veteran broadcaster Lynden V. serves as MC for the evening. Each artist brings a distinct voice shaped by history, movement, and community. Dee Daniels’ celebrated jazz career reflects decades of vocal artistry while Ndidi Cascade’s songwriting blends folk, soul, hip hop and roots traditions. Khari McClelland weaves ancestral storytelling into contemporary sound, connecting generations through music, Henri Brown delivers dynamic R&B performances grounded in West Coast influence and Bukola, a singer-songwriter and guitarist, brings a jazz-infused contemporary neo-soul sound. Community outreach with organizations including the Unity Centre Association for Black Cultures and Hogan’s Alley Society support the Vancouver event, strengthening local engagement and reinforcing CBMA’s commitment to national representation. A pre-show meet and greet offers audiences an opportunity to connect directly with artists ahead of the evening performances. Founded to research, preserve, and amplify Black Canadian music history, the CBMA has featured more than 50 artists across exhibitions and live events nationwide. Its Vancouver debut marks a significant expansion of the archive’s live programming and reflects its evolving role as a national cultural resource. The Black History Month Showcase in Vancouver takes place Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Museum of Vancouver from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a meet and greet from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The event is free to the public. Additional details and registration information are available through CBMA platforms. The Canadian Black Music Archives would like to thank their official sponsors – TD Bank Group, Global BC, Tom Lee Music Canada, Unity Centre Association for Black Cultures (UCABC), Vancouver Coop Radio CFRO 100.5 FM, and Hogan’s Alley Society.
