Jodi Hughes

Weather Anchor

Jodi Hughes is the Weather Anchor for Global News Calgary’s Weekend News Hour at 6 p.m. and Weekend News Final at 11 p.m. When not reporting the weather, you can find Hughes out in the community on Friday nights reporting for Early News and News Hour.

A third-generation Calgarian, Hughes joins Global after having spent almost 12 years prior working in radio at CJAY 92 in 2002, then Classic Country AM 1060 from 2011 to 2013. Hughes made the move to broadcast five years ago when she began reporting the weather for CBC in 2010. Her experience and love for weather comes from her father, former long-time Global Calgary Weatherman Jimmy Hughes from 1980 to 2004, whom she fondly remembers watching from the back of the same Global studio she is delighted to work in today.

Hughes has a real love of sports that she attributes to trying to keep up with her big brother. She has two children that keep her pretty busy and a 100 lb dog named Molly who thinks she is a purse dog.

WATCH: Jodi answers a few questions for Global Calgary viewers, including: what’s the best part of your job, what inspires you and what’s something we don’t know about you?
