Jodi Hughes is the Weather Anchor for Global News Mornings weekends on Global Calgary. When she is not wearing her weather hat, Hughes hosts the OurYYC features for Global Calgary – highlighting community events around Calgary.
Hughes is a third-generation Calgarian, and a second-generation Global Calgary weather anchor. Her father Jimmy Hughes worked on Global Calgary from 1980 to 2004. She remembers hanging out at the station watching her dad anchor with legends like Ed Whalen and Brenda Finley.
Before television, Hughes spent many years in radio, co-hosting the morning show on CJAY 92 and Classic Country AM 1060.
A self-described tomboy, she spent her youth playing sports and now finds herself supporting her two children in their athletic endeavors. When this soccer and hockey mom is not at an arena or pitch, you can find her and her kids at home with their 100 pound “lapdog” Molly.
