A hacker group is threatening to ruin Christmas for Xbox and PlayStation users by taking down both of the gaming networks, just as people are busy unwrapping their new consoles and games.

Following the Christmas Day cyber-attack that took PlayStation’s network offline for days, Sony is trying to make good with gamers by offering a five-day extension on PlayStation Plus memberships.

Microsoft’s Xbox Live network is up and running following a possible Distributed Denial of Service attack late Monday.
