The latest EQAO results at the Hamilton Catholic School Board show many young students are still having a hard time with math.

Ontario Education Minister Mitzie Hunter said she believes the province's renewed strategy on mathematics will help ease the drastic decline in standardized test scores among primary and junior school students.

The majority of Ontario's Grade 10 students who wrote this year's secondary school literacy test were successful.
