SASKATOON – A local Saskatoon digital media firm is being recommended to be the lead consultant for the development of a new website for the city.
The website steering committee chose zu.com from a short-list of five consultants.
zu, which has won several awards for their website work, received the highest evaluation score from the submissions.
“We want the new website to meet the needs and expectations of the community as we move forward continuously improving our online services,” said Rob Gilhuly, the city’s website redesign project manager.
The new site will be developed using Drupal open source software currently used by the Government of Canada, the City of Ottawa and other government agencies following recommendations from the local software community.
Consultation on the new website will begin in January with deployment expected by the end of the year.
City council is expected to officially approve zu as the lead consultant when they meet this Monday.
