WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg woman has been accused of stabbing a man to death at a Portage Avenue apartment block on Friday evening.
Police have charged Dawn Marie McFadyen, 32, with second-degree murder in the death of Brandon Lee How, 39, of Winnipeg.
Police went to the apartment block on the 2100 block of Portage Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. after receiving a call about a man having been assaulted.
When they arrived, they found three people suffering from various injuries. How was sent to hospital in critical condition after he was stabbed in the upper body; McFadyen and a 42-year-old man were sent to hospital in stable condition.
Police said Monday morning that the three were socializing when the two men got into a fight and the 42-year-old was injured.
McFadyen and How then got into a fight and How was stabbed, police allege.
McFadyen is being held at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
