“I wish to be Batkid.”
Thousands of volunteers are rallying to transform San Francisco into Gotham City to fulfill the wish of a five-year-old leukemia patient who dreams of being ‘Batkid’ for a day.
When Miles Scott told the Make-A-Wish Foundation he wanted to become Batkid, the organization never dreamed so many volunteers would jump on board.

“He is a bright, positive, little boy who finds inspiration in super-heroes. Miles told Make-A-Wish he wanted to be Batkid, and today is his big day,” the Make-A-Wish Foundation said in a statement.
The mayor, police, politicians and thousands of volunteers, including one who donated a Lamborghini, have all pitched in to turn San Francisco into Gotham City for Miles.
Make-A-Wish has set out an entire day of superhero-charged fun for Miles, beginning with a police conference Friday morning.

“The day begins with a breaking news story. San Francisco’s Police Chief asks if anyone knows the whereabouts of Batkid. The city needs his help to fight crime and capture villains! Our little Batkid, along with Batman, is ready to answer the call,” the agenda says.
Batkid will then drive around San Francisco in his Batmobile, rescue a damsel-in-distress from cable car tracks, capture the Riddler in the act of robbing a downtown vault and rescue the city’s mascot Lou Seal from the evil Penguin, according to the itinerary.

The day concludes with a stop at city hall where the mayor will congratulate Miles and present him with a key to the city.
Thousands of volunteers are taking part in the big adventure, staging scenes of dramatic rescues and cheering on Batkid as he fights crime on the streets.

The San Francisco Chronicle even printed a special edition newspaper, including a special article from “Clark Kent” thanking Batkid for saving the city.
City officials and politicians also took part in the big day.

Miles’ story has gone viral online using the hashtag #sfbatkid. U.S. President Barack Obama even tweeted about him.
