A 21-year-old man has been charged after a young woman was sexually assaulted Thursday night, according to Vancouver police.
Police said the man allegedly grabbed and groped the woman near Hastings and Cambie streets at around 5:30 p.m.
The victim then observed the man grab another woman a short distance away, police said.
Officers arrested the suspect around 10 minutes later and have charged him with sexual assault.
Police said the man is known to them and has a criminal history that includes other sexual offence allegations.
The man remains in custody and cannot be identified because of a publication ban.
Police said the sex assault does not appear to be related to six attacks on women in UBC earlier this month.
