The Vancouver Canucks are making the most of their two weeks away from home.

Mike Santorelli scored the only goal in the shootout, and the Canucks came away victorious in the second Schneider-Luongo duel as Vancouver beat New Jersey 3-2.

Vancouver moves to 4-1-1 on their season-long seven game road trip and are now 7-4-1 on the season. New Jersey is now 1-5-4.

Playing in a sparsely filled Prudential Center, both teams began slowly, with New Jersey outshooting Vancouver five to three in the first period.

But two of the Devils’ five shots went in, as Patrick Elias scored his third of the season at 5:05, and rookie Eric Gelinas scored the first goal of his NHL career at 9:41 on the powerplay.

The goals were sandwiched by a Ryan Kesler goal, his fifth of the season, off a botched Cory Schneider clearing attempt at 6:07.

Vancouver tied the game at 12:37 of the second period, with Daniel Sedin receiving a long bank pass from his brother Hernik and quickly burying it for his fourth goal of the season.

The Canucks played much of the game with only nine forwards, as both David Booth and Dale Weise left with injuries. The result was the top line of Ryan Kesler and the Sedins playing more than 24 minutes each.
