TORONTO – A nine-year-old girl from Ottawa is seeing the world more clearly thanks to a pair of special glasses developed in her hometown.
Emma-Rose Gibson has been legally blind since she was born.
The glasses developed by eSight Eyeware use a high-resolution video camera to capture exactly what the person is looking at, in real time, and transfer the information to a small portable computer.
The images are then recreated, augmented and displayed on two little screens in front of the wearer’s eyes.
Global’s Christina Stevens shared a special visit with Emma-Rose and her mother, Jennifer-Anne Gibson, high above Toronto.
