TORONTO – Bon Jovi will be the first band to be inducted into the Air Canada Centre’s Hall of Fame.

The ACC, which hosts the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and the NBA’s Toronto Raptors as well as many concerts, says Bon Jovi gets the honour after holding 17 shows at the venue — more than any other band.

That includes back-to-back sold out shows earlier this year and a grand total of 600,000 tickets sold altogether.

The New Jersey-based band will be back at the Air Canada Centre on Nov. 1 and 2 as part of the band’s worldwide Because We Can tour.

The band will be inducted on Nov. 2 and will also receive a Hall of Fame star that will be permanently located in the Galleria at Gate 1 of the ACC.

The centre says there will a special banner presentation inside the arena that day, as well as fan giveaways during both shows.

The Because We Can tour is continuing across North America, Japan and Australia for the rest of the year.
