Vancouver police have identified Friday’s murder victim as 32-year-old La Van Truong Phan.
Police say Phan was shot in the 7200-block of Victoria Drive at around 12:20 a.m.
Officers found Phan in the back yard of his home with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
According to police, Phan is known to them and is associated with gangs and the drug trade.
Although investigators have not determined a motive behind the murder, police have confirmed it was a targeted attack.
Police are looking to speak with anyone who has information on the murder, who has not already come forward.
