BATTLEFORD, Sask. – RCMP say Highway 16 traffic is restricted after a semi trailer got hung up on an overpass early Friday morning.
At 4 a.m., RCMP were called an eastbound semi trailer that lost control and went over on the right side of the Highway 16 bypass while travelling towards Battleford.
Mounties say the driver and passenger were trapped inside the tractor unit which was hanging over the edge of the railing.
North Battleford fire department and EMS arrived to help safely extract the driver and passenger.
Both suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Battleford Union Hospital.
Eastbound traffic coming to the Highway 16 bypass is being rerouted for several hours until debris is cleared from the roadway.
Traffic coming from Battleford has also been rerouted.
