TORONTO – This beer puts new meaning in ‘out of this world.’

Dogfish Head, a brewer out of Lewes, Del., has concocted a brew that boasts crushed lunar meteorites.

You read that right: dust from the moon.

The ale, called Celest-jewel-ale is made from “certified” lunar meteorites that are crushed and then steeped “like tea in a rich, malty Oktoberfest,” its site boasts.

According to Dogfish, ILC Dover, a tech company that creates space suits among other scientific materials, helped them obtain the meteorites.

The downside is, if you’d like to taste the beer, it’s only available in Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Beach brewpub in Delaware.

But who knows? Maybe someone will figure out how to add a bit of Mars to a nice Niagara ice wine.
