TORONTO – Dozens of people were injured after two commuter trains collided in a western suburb of Chicago Monday morning.
Authorities said at least 30 people were taken to area hospitals after two CTA Blue Line trains collided in Forest Park.
According to media reports, an outbound train stopped at Harlem station was hit by an out-of-service train going the opposite direction on the same track. A CTA spokesperson told the Chicago-Sun Times the collision occurred at a “pretty slow speed.”
None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
An investigation is underway to determine why the out-of-service train was on the track.
