WATCH ABOVE: Vintage Macy’s building implodes in downtown Houston
Hundreds of spectators gathered Sunday morning as demolition crews imploded an old Macy’s store in downtown Houston.
The vintage 10-storey building, which originally opened as a Foley’s department store in 1947, marked the centre of Houston’s downtown shopping district until it closed in March.
Officials say the implosion has been planned for months. The now-empty site will serve as a new shopping area.
