TORONTO – The Gardiner Expressway will be closed in both directions from Carlaw Avenue to the Humber River for the annual fall maintenance.
The closure will be in effect from Friday, Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. to Monday, Sept. 23 at 5 a.m.
“This maintenance work is necessary in order to keep the Gardiner Expressway in a state of good repair for the travelling public,” said Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong, Chair of the City’s Public Works and Infrastructure Committee in a media release.
Some of the work that will be done include cleaning catchbasins, pothole repairs, sign maintenance and guiderail repairs.
Motorists are encouraged to use Lake Shore Boulevard, the Queensway, Richmond Street, Adelaide Street, King Street and Queen Street as alternative routes during the closure.
