TORONTO – The tropical depression that had formed south of Baja California has developed into a tropical storm.
The storm, named Tropical Storm Ivo, is the ninth of the Pacific hurricane season which runs from May 15 to Nov. 30.

Ivo is moving north around 9 km/h but is forecast to pick up some speed over the next couple of days. Its winds are near 65 km/h with higher gusts.
The storm is expected to produce rainfall accumulations of two to 12 centimetres across the southern part of the Baja California peninsula, as well as increased swells along the coast.
