REGINA – A 40-year-old Regina man is facing nearly a dozen firearm charges after he was arrested in Regina on Saturday night.
Police were called to the 2000 block of Broder Street after reports that a gunshot was fired and a rifle was pointed at people in the backyard of a house.
Police arrested two suspects in the area and a .22 calibre rifle was found in a nearby truck.
The incident began as a confrontation between one of the suspects and one of the victims earlier in the evening. The suspect returned with another man and pointed a firearm at four people and then fired a shot into the air.
40-year-old Alvin James Norton has been charged with 11 firearm offences. The other suspect was released from police custody once he was sober.
Norton will make his first court appearance on Monday afternoon.
