Canada Bread, the manufacturer of Ben’s products, has issued a voluntary recall for some bread sold in the Maritimes.

The products affected are Ben’s Xtra Soft enriched white and whole wheat bread, and Super Club white and whole wheat bread — both with a best before date of Aug. 29.

Company officials say there is a possibility the bread may contain fragments of glass from a light bulb that shattered during production, although they have not received any reports of it.

The bread was produced at Canada Bread’s Moncton facility.┬áThe affected product bears the plant number 2503.

The company says customers can return the bread to the store where it was purchased to receive a full refund.
