More updated liquor regulations now in place

REGINA – Another 37 liquor regulations in Saskatchewan have been updated.

Last fall, the government announced 77 regulations would be changed and the first 39 were implemented in May.

The latest changes will allow salons and spas to apply for a permit to sell and serve alcohol to customers purchasing a service.

Other changes include allowing liquor permitted restaurants to offer bring your own wine service and vendors can now open at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday’s.

The only change left to come is to allow striptease and wet clothing contests at adult-only establishments. Full frontal nudity will still be banned.

That change will take place on Jan. 1, 2014 to give municipalities time to enact related bylaws.
