WATCH: Kelowna overrides heritage designation for parking lot

KELOWNA, B.C. — Calling it a tough but necessary decision, Kelowna city council has voted to override its own heritage designation to create more parking around the city’s hospital.  In a unanimous vote, council amended the official community plan to allow three residential lots next to the hospital to be converted into a 90 stall parking lot.  And as Klaudia Ceglarz reports, the IHA may be eyeing more properties in the heritage district as solutions to its ongoing parking problems.
