NARAMATA — A tractor convoy is conveying a message, with direct aim at Canadian politicians.
The Naramata Bench Winery Association is fed up with “antiquated barriers to trade of BC wine within Canada” according to representative, Miranda Halladay.
It is “effectively illegal to bring a bottle of wine home from Naramata if you visit from Alberta or most other parts of Canada” says Halladay.
The tractor convoy made its way to Penticton MLA Dan Ashton’s office Thursday morning.
Organizers hope the rally will gain the attention of Premier and newly elected Westside-Kelowna MLA Christy Clark, so she can bring forward the issue at an upcoming premiers meeting in Ontario.
