Lethbridge slammed by severe weather

Severe weather made its return to southern Alberta Wednesday evening with parts of Lethbridge getting pounded with heavy rain, hail and wind.

The storm hit over the supper hour and despite being short lived, still left its mark.

In Paradise Canyon, several homes were damaged, in one case part of a roof was blown off.  Many vehicles in that neighbourhood were also hit, with hail breaking windows and leaving behind dents.

The Paradise Canyon Golf Course didn’t fair much better, being covered in hail and left with uprooted trees and tree debris littering tee boxes and greens.

On the other side of the coulee,  the storm also left its mark toppling a 30 year old birch tree which narrowly missed a house in Tudor Estates.

Water was also found pooling in several south side intersections, even lapping up on the doors of some businesses along Mayor Magrath Drive.
