SASKATOON – K+S Potash Canada and Canadian Pacific have signed a long-term deal to transport potash from the Legacy mine site.

Under the exclusive agreement, CP will move potash from the site to a western Canadian port for overseas export and to domestic and U.S. markets.

“Canadian Pacific offers an excellent logistics service and we are looking forward to this long-term partnership,” said Ulrich Lamp, president and CEO of K+S Potash.

CP says a new rail spur will be built in order to accommodate transportation from the site.

Production from the mine located near Bethune, Sask. is planned to start in the summer of 2016.
