Vandals have destroyed part of a community art project in Langley, that took 300 hours to complete.

A fiberglass horse, part of the ‘Horsing Around Langley’ project (similar to the Orca and Bear projects in Vancouver), was painted by an 80-year-old artist.

But last Saturday night, vandals cut off the horse’s head and hooves.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“The artist put her heart and soul into it, as all these other artists did, and it took hours upon hours, as you can see in the detail of the horses,” says Rosemary Wallace, Langley Arts Council president.

“I was devastated and so was our community.”

“Somebody has robbed the community of a beautiful piece of artwork that we hope we can put it back together somehow.”
